To become an engineer, preparing for being best at SEE

Bandana Sarki, the of resident permanent Tripurasundari Muncipality-1 Sarkitole who is the student of Tripura secondary school studying at class 10. She is 15 years old adolescent girl who is very good at study and working hard to achieve her goal. The girl who was born and grow at Dalit society always being curios to do new and innovative work from her early childhood, said her uncle Man Bahadur Sarki. Ummi Sarki, the mother of Bandana Sarki said “we are being from poor family and we have not had enough food to eat.” There are 6 members in Bandana’s family including 3 sisters, 1 brother, Father and Mother. Surjalal Sarki, the Father of Bandana’s is daily wages worker by profession and mother work as house keeper. Due to the economic condition of the family, the father of bandanas went to India to seek a job. Before 2 years ago only he came at his permanent resident from India. At that situation, Bandana’s was staying with her uncle house. At the present, the brother of bandana is studying at class 3 and due to poor economic condition of the family one sister is adopted by her uncle and he look after her and helping for education and overall growth.

Bandana become worried about her further education after SEE. Recently, GIRLS TAKE OVER program was conducted at Tripurasundari Municipality by PLAN International Nepal and SAC Nepal jointly on December 09 2022. At the program, she took over the role of Mayor of Tripurasundari Municipality for a day. She said that from her childhood she was always adored by science also added that she became an engineer and after completion of engineering she want to work at her own community, Municipality. She always wanted to become an engineer also known about her family economic condition that her family cannot afford for engineering. Therefore, she wants to be the best and top the SEE so that she can try for scholarship in order to follow the dream of engineering. She was very motivated and encouraged by the one-day role of mayor and also added that the incident will help me to continue my study. At last, she thanked all supporting organization European Union, Plan International Nepal and SAC Nepal.
